Anthony A. Yoseloff: A Commitment to Service
Serving one’s high-net-worth clientele is one thing; making a genuine commitment to one’s community is a separate and higher calling. Anthony A. Yoseloff divides his time and effort between all of these pursuits, with outstanding results.
After earning his A.B. degree, cum laude, from the Woodrow Wilson School of Public and International Affairs at Princeton University in 1996, Mr. Anthony Alexander Yoseloff, joined Davidson Kempner Capital Management in August of 1999. Also commonly known as Tony, Mr. Yoseloff also received a J.D. from Columbia Law School as well as an M.B.A. from the Columbia Graduate School of Business Administration in 1999.
An investment adviser with more than 30 years of experience, Davidson Kempner Capital Management employs a bottom-up, fundamental method of investing with an event-driven focus. Headquartered in New York City, the firm oversees approximately $30.9 billion in assets under management and has approximately 315 employees in the firm’s four offices.
Originally founded in May 1983 by Marvin H. Davidson, Davidson Kempner was ranked as the 13th largest hedge-fund manager of 2017. Now, as the Co-Executive Managing Member of Davidson Kempner, Mr. Yoseloff co-manages the firm’s distressed investments department.
Tony didn’t start out as the Co-Executive Managing Member of the firm, however. After joining in 1999, Mr. Yoseloff became a Managing Member of Davidson Kempner Capital Management in January 2004. Next, in January of 2012, Tony held the position of Co-Deputy Executive Managing
Active outside of the firm, Anthony A. Yoseloff takes on a number of community-focused roles. For instance, Mr. Yoseloff is on the Board of Directors of Donors Choose, a not-for-profit organization that connects teachers in high-need communities with donors who want to help; he also serves as the Chairman of the organization’s Audit Committee. Furthermore, Tony is on the Advisory Council for the Department of Economics at Princeton University.
Mr. Yoseloff’s commitment to service is certainly well established. Tony is on the Board of Trustees of the scholarship program Leadership Enterprise for a Diverse America, and also serves as a member of the Board of Trustees of the New York Public Library, where he also is on the investment committee. Along with all of that, Anthony Yoseloff serves on the investment committee of New York’s Trinity School and is a member of the Board of Directors of PRINCO, the investment manager of the Princeton University endowment.
Anthony A. Yoseloff manages risk for his clients at Davidson Kempner; that much we know for sure. What’s less clear is how Mr. Yoseloff manages his time and his multiple activities so well – but as long as he continues to provide this level of service to so many people, it’s all for the better.
